Manuel Roberto Herrera age 83 of LaMarque died Friday December 25, 2020 at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral services are 10:00am Saturday January 2, 2020 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where a Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:00pm.

Manuel was born July 17, 1937 in Usulután, El Salvador to Luis Alonso Quintanilla and Petronila Herrera. He worked in the Restaurant Industry as a Chef for many years. He was a faithful member of Maniantial de Vida Eterna Pentecostal Church in Galveston where he loved to play the Guitar and sing in worship. He was a hard working man that always took good care of his family and remained faithful to his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed working in his garden and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Epifanio, Luis, Marcio and Jaciento; 1 sister Marina and 2 sons Gustavo and Juan. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Rosa Coralia Herrera of La Marque; daughter Daisy Herrera of Houston; sons Robert Herrera, Sr. of League City, Joel Herrera of Galveston and Mauricio Herrera of La Marque; sisters Elsa Herrera of Maryland, Gloria Herrera and Rena Herrera both of El Salvador; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers are Robert Herrera, Sr., Joel Herrera, Mauricio Herrera, Daisy Herrera, Robert Herrera, Jr. and Daniel Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearer is Rev. Audelio Alegria.

A reception will follow the graveside service at Maniantial de Vida Eterna Pentecostal Church 4921 Ave R Galveston, Texas 77551.
