Obituary

On December 26, 2025, Marcelina Gonzales Flores was called into the arms of Jesus in League City, TX. She lived 91 long and enlightening years. She was born to Jovita and Ruperto Gonzales in Alamagordo, New Mexico on June 2, 1934. She was one of eight children, she had six sisters and one brother.

Marcy married Tony A. Flores Jr. in Alamogordo, NM in 1956.  They made their home in Galveston, TX, then later in Texas City, TX. Marcy was the youngest Gonzales child to a beautiful family legacy.  Her parents shaped the future for their descendants with their courage, resilience and unconditional love.  Marcy lived a beautiful and vibrant life caring for her husband, children and extended family. Her spirituality was devoted to the Catholic faith and lived as an example of dedication to all. Her heart was a champion to those she loved.  Everyone she met became a lifelong friend, she remained close to her High School friends through her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic parish in Texas City, TX but often supported other local churches with her family.  She loved visiting historical churches, some built by her father in New Mexico and the old Spanish churches and missions in San Antonio, TX. She had a witty spirit and spoke from her heart, she loved to dance, she loved music, visiting family, going shopping, dining with friends and family, and traveling. She was very proud of her family - her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even her great-great grandchildren. She had a way of showing love for all to the point that everyone she met within a few minutes was a friend. We honor Marcy as the great spiritual matriarch of the Flores family and know that Jesus smiled on her as she made the transition into His kingdom. We hope that we can emulate her love for God and family as we continue through this journey called Life.

Survivors include her four sons and one daughter, Michael (Irene) Flores, Richard Flores, Andrew (Michelle) Flores, Stephen (Kellie) Flores, Patricia Roberts; her Grandchildren:  Christa Mora Falcon (Joe), Lauren Perez (Arnulfo), Michael Flores Jr., Richard Flores Jr, (Deionndra, Angela), Rachel Flores, Suzette Rodriquez, Heather Flores (Mike), Sarah Honsberg (Nick), Brennen Flores, Great Grandchildren: Jordan Mora, Victoria Perez, Arnulfo Perez III (Tres) Perez, Trinity Taylor, Everett Flores, and Dayne Falcon, Great great-grandchild: Aaliyah Vaughan; Sister In-Laws & family, many special cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime family friends.
