GALVESTON, TX- Margaret "Peggy" Cline Wood passed away peacefully at her home in Galveston, TX on March 11th, 2025, at the age of 90 with her daughter, Anne, by her side. Peggy was born on February 24th, 1935 in Houston, TX to William Cline Sr. and Margaret Farrar Cline.  She grew up in Wharton, TX and attended college at the University of Texas in Austin. She retired from the chemistry lab at UTMB at the age of 73. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a love for reading, cooking, birds and weekend lunches with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time and making sweet memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. She was fiercely independent and strong-willed, yet loyal and caring and would not hesitate to help a friend or family member in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Sarah Elizabeth Cline, and sister-in-law Carol Marr Rankin. She is survived by her son William "Billy" Marr IV (wife Jody), and daughter Margaret "Anne" Elfstrom.  Grandchildren Aaron Elfstrom (wife Amber), Marr Elfstrom (wife Emily), Farrar Langford (husband Cory), Cory Marr, Cody Marr, Quinn Marr, and Mia Marr.  Great-grandchildren Reef Elfstrom, Sadie and Ella Elfstrom, and Adalene and Candice Langford. Siblings Bill Cline (wife Kathleen), Robert Cline (wife Debbie), and Carolyn Northington. Nieces and nephews Lonnie Lonabough, Marr Lonabough, and Carol "Cici" Landry.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for all the love and attention her friend and caregiver Roxanna has provided her over the past several years, we can not thank you enough for your care and compassion over the years.

Per Peggy's request there will be no services but a family gathering for a celebration of life will be held in the near future.
