Margaret Amalie Ramirez, 89, of Galveston, TX, went to be with God on the evening of March 14, 2025. Born in Galveston, TX on September 9, 1935, to Santos and Maria Luisa Gonzales, Margaret was the youngest of four children.

She graduated from Ball High School in 1953. Margaret met John Alcala Ramirez of Galveston, and they were married in 1957 at St. Mary's Cathedral-Basilica in Galveston. They raised seven children. Margaret went back to school, achieving her master's degree, and became a long-time educator of GISD until her retirement. She was an active member at St. Mary's Cathedral-Basilica.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. In addition to her seven children, Margaret had 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband John; sister Isabel Martinez, brother-in-law Rudy; brother Pat Gonzales, sister-in-law Barbara; brother Carlos Gonzales; daughter Mary Ellen Restivo, son-in-law Greg Restivo.

Margaret is survived by her children: Mary Louise Ruble (Robert) of Fulshear, children Patrick Ruble of Fulshear and Elizabeth (Bethey) Ruble of Brooklyn, New York; Mary Ellen's daughter Felicia Lichte (William) of Houston; John Ramirez of Houston; Joseph Ramirez (Lisa), children Delaney Ramirez and Dylan Ramirez of Houston; Eddie Ramirez of League City, daughter Kayla Ramirez of League City; David Ramirez (Melissa) of League City, children Matthew Ramirez (Madison) and Madison Ramirez of League City; and Bobby Ramirez (Claudia) of Tomball, children Alex Ramirez and Sophia Ramirez of Galveston, and Eli Ramirez of Houston. Margaret is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Gonzales of League City and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. For Margaret, if you were ever a part of her family, you would always be a part of her family, including Linda Stone of Houston, Brook Miller of Galveston, Christy King of League City, and Jamie Duke of Houston.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, a Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. Funeral Services will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, at St. Mary's Cathedral-Basilica, burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.

Margaret Ramirez will be fondly remembered for her deep love for her family and friends, for her love of teaching, and for her strong faith in God. Her smile, her laugh, her "Oh, Honey" will all be missed, but her kindness, love, and faith will never be forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
