Maria Del
Carmen Aceves
Aug 13, 1930 — Feb 18, 2025
Galveston
Maria Del Carmen Aceves, 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at her residence in Galveston surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are at 11:00am Monday, February 24, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00am at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.
Carmen was born August 13, 1930 in Santa Elena, Guanajuato to Julian and Julia Ramirez. Carmen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and served as a member of the Damas of St. Patrick's. She retired from UTMB Housekeeping and also worked as an independent housekeeper. Carmen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to all who crossed her path. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved cooking for her family on special occasions, and enjoyed the outdoors from the comfort of her front porch. Her contagious laughter and smile could light up any room she walked into. She was a humble, kindhearted, caring, and generous person who would go out of her way to help those in need. She will be deeply missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts forever.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents Julian and Julia Ramirez, husband Salvador, son Jaime, sisters Anita Villarreal, Ignacia Martinez, Maria Hernandez, brothers Victor and Guadalupe Ramirez. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Sylvia Yepez (Jose-Chemo), Maria Castro, sons Javier, Salvador Jr. and Miguel Aceves, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Alexander Flores, Isaac Almaguer, Jr., Alan Aceves, Salvador Aceves III, Carmen Aceves and Michael Aceves.
Honorary Pallbearers are Isaiah Flores, Carlos (Rico) Aceves, Joshua Aceves, Jared Aceves and Javier Aceves, Jr.
The family would like to send their sincere appreciation to AccentCare Hospice, Monica and Oscar, also to Right At Home Health Care Services, Caregiver Sara, for the great care they provided.
