Maria Elena Salinas age 94 of Galveston died Wednesday April 28, 2021 at The Landing at Water Crest in Pearland. Funeral Mass is 1:30pm Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.

Maria was born May 16, 1926 in La Hacienda, N.L., Mexico to Santos and Lenora Salinas. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She was a wonderful mother, sister and grandmother to her numerous grand, great and great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Derlis Salinas, Sr, a daughter Sylvia Salinas, an infant sister and 2 brothers; survivors include her daughter Lenora Miller and husband Robert of Van Buren, Arkansas; sons Derlis Salinas, Jr. and wife Bonnie Scott of Houston and Jose Ruben Salinas of Galveston; brother Santos Salinas of Bayou Vista; sister Rosie Castillo and husband Joe of Houston; grandchildren Trey Salinas and wife Rhonda Toming, Cherika White, Maria Lenora Gibson and husband Charles, Gabriel Zavala and wife Elizabeth, Donald Salinas, Andrea Tomek and husband George and David Gonzales and wife Paula; 13 great grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
