Mark Benedict
Rivera
Feb 17, 1976 — May 28, 2026
Missouri City
Mark Benedict Rivera, at just 50 years old, of Missouri City, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 28, 2026.
Born on February 17 in Galveston, TX, Mark was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and Supervisory CBP Officer. He was known for his thoughtfulness, generosity, loyalty,
dedication, warmth, and joy. He loved hard, lived loudly, and demonstrated the meaning of a fearless fighter—determined, full of grit, resiliency, and faith.
He spent his life excelling in service in his career with Customs and Border Protection, working on his cars, and knowing the latest and greatest in armory. He especially enjoyed family
gatherings, doting on his nieces, nephews, and godchildren, anything basketball, partaking in the latest "foodie" scene (especially sweets), and a variety of music, which he often sang along with as only Mark could. He enjoyed traveling and found solace in or around water. Where there was a pool or beach you would definitely find Mark there. Those who knew him will
remember him for his genuine friendship and love and will cherish those intimate memories with him.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mona Lisa, father, Mario, and siblings Zandra and Michael. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zenaida.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. His funeral service is on Saturday, June 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 AM and will proceed to the graveside at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston, with reception to follow.
We are deeply heartbroken by the loss, but thankful for all the love, laughter, and memories Mark shared with us. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.
