GALVESTON   Michael Anthony Garza age 47 of Galveston died Sunday February 11, 2024, at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral Mass is 10:00am Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.

Michael was born Tuesday, August 25, 1976, in Galveston, Texas to Albert Garza, Sr. and Ramona Elisa Colunga Garza. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica.  He was a 1994 graduate from Texas City High School where he loved playing Baseball. He was a true sports fan and was an avid Texas Aggies Fan and Dallas Cowboys Fan. Michael was employed as a manager at Specs in Galveston. He loved his nieces and nephews and his dog Chloe.

Preceded in death by his mother Ramona Elisa Garza; survivors include his father, Albert Garza, Sr.; brother, Albert Garza, Jr. and wife Veronica all of Galveston; aunt; nieces and nephews, Chesney Lyn Garza, Albert Garza, III, Tyler Elizabeth Garza and Bella Ortiz Elmore; great niece Kaia Lyn Bouldin; numerous, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Roger Diaz, Jr., Louis Diaz, Robert Garza, Steven Casteneda, Richard Bonds and Manuel Leyva.
