Today, the world lost a beautiful soul. Nancy Martinez, born on March 25, 1979 in Chicago, IL, passed away on July 25, 2023 in Galveston, TX. She was the beloved daughter of Maria and Ramiro Martinez, and the beloved sister of Ana Gonzales, Maria Martinez, and Beatriz McGehee. She was also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a talented artist, an architect/mechanical drafter, and an adventurer. She was the first one in her family to go to college, and she worked hard to help her family. She also managed to attend numerous concerts, host horror movie nights, and baby sit all 10 of her nieces and nephews despite her busy schedule. Nancy was known for her positivity and determination, which inspired those around her.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29th 2023 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, TX at 11:00am. In lieu of cut flowers, the family requests that potted plants or cards be sent instead.

Nancy was a beautiful person, inside and out. Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
