Nelda Herrera age 73 of Texas City passed away Friday, July 2 6, 2024, at HCA-Mainland Medical Center in Texas City. Funeral Mass is 10:00am Thursday, August 8, 2024, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. The family will receive visitors at the church from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm.

Nelda Ramos Herrera, aged 73 years old, born in Mercedes, Texas on April 20,1951. Loved and loved by her parents Clemente and Rita Ramos. Nelda moved to Texas City, Texas where she met her loving husband Felipe Herrera Sr. and later had two beautiful children Felipe Herrera Jr and Leslie Seeton.

As many may know Nelda had a great love and passion for giving care to children and worked as a teacher aide in Galveston ISD later retiring after 38 years. It is without a doubt that Nelda had never met a stranger as she was always so loving and friendly to others whom have crossed paths with her.

Nelda shared a great love for traveling, especially if in included being by the beach or being by the pool. She loved to shop. You would never miss a happy hour when Nelda was around, especially if it included Tejano music and dancing. As some may also know she never missed out on going to the game room or casino with her baby beer in her hand. Nelda showed a great love for #27 on her favorite sports teams, the Houston Astros.

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rudy Ramos  and Sylvia Rendon; Our lovely Nelda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Felipe Herrera, Sr., Siblings:, Hope Salinas, Yolanda Herrera, Mary Reyna, Mucio Ramos, and Carlos Ramos Children: Felipe Herrera Jr and wife Theresa Herrera and Leslie Seeton and husband Larry Seeton Jr; Grandchildren: Joshua, Gabrielle, Christina and Felipe Herrera III. Nathan and Leah Jones, Amber and Larry Seeton III ; As well as her lovely 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Joshua Herrera, Nathan Jones, Daniel Herrera, Jimmy Rendon, A.C. Rendon, Eddie Lopez, Mario Ramos, Jason Ramos, Jonathan Herrera and Felipe Herrera, III.
