Orlando Jose Borrell, age 42, passed away in his home in Houston on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Orlando was born September 8, 1981 in Managua, Nicaragua. He came to the states as a young boy at the age of 6, where he grew up in Galveston, Tx. He attended Ball High School and graduated in the class of 2000. He loved dancing and spent his high school years being a part and becoming a Captain of Hispanic Dance. His passion for dancing would light up the dance floor anywhere he went. He spent most of his adult years working retail, in which he loved to do. Orlando was a sweet, fun loving person and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Family was very important to him and what he was most proud of. He was a great and loving son, brother and uncle. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone any way he could, he would take the shirt off his back for you. His smile and positive energy were contagious, you couldn't help but to feel loved around him. Orlando was one of the nicest people you could ever possibly meet and his sweet and gentle soul will be sadly missed. He is now resting in peace, in heaven, next to our Father where he belongs.

Orlando is survived by his mother Karla Borrell; sister Terry Borrell; brother Jerry Rivera; nephews Cameron Vargas, Carmelo Perez, Cristiano Perez; and nieces Yulianna and Nalani Rivera. He is proceeded in death by his grandmother Lila Borrell and uncle Carlos Urroz.

A memorial to honor the life of Orlando will be held from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, January 7,2024 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, TX.
