In the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, February 24th Patricia Ann Armstrong (Patty) left this earth to continue her journey.

Patty was born on October 28, 1959 in New York City to John A. Leslie Sr. and Patricia Ann Staudinger Leslie. She and her family eventually moved to Houston Texas. Patty moved to Galveston in the early 80's where she met and married Bill Danford. Together they operated Danford's Liquor Stores until Bill retired. After Bill passed away she met and married Donald Armstrong and they began their life together.

Patty was one of a kind. She was a sweet, straight forward, lovable, very strong woman. She loved working outside in her yard where she tended her flowers, vegetables and her butterfly garden which always had monarchs. She loved all animals and birds and always had a buffet of food outside for them. Patty had a lot of pets in her lifetime that she adored including her cats, dogs, a raccoon, fish, ferrets and her parrot Batman. They were all so lucky to have her as their mom. Patty loved to go camping and on cruises. She absolutely loved anything to do with the water, especially snorkeling. A lot of her family and friends have great memories going crabbing with Patty. She was an excellent cook. She always made the best meals including her famous seafood gumbo.

Most of all Patty loved her family and friends fiercely. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, Aunt, grandma and friend.

During the last few years of her life Patty battled some serious health issues which brought her many challenges but she always had hope for brighter days and hoped that one day she would get back to the life she loved.

Proceeding Patty in death were her father, her step dad Jack and her brother John.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Donald, her mom, her siblings Bobby, Ricky, and Jackie, her bonus children Donald Pitts, Dustin Armstrong and David Armstong, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a lot of dear friends.

A memorial service for Patty and release of butterflies will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 3 pm in the garden at 709 University Blvd., Galveston. If the weather is bad an alternate place will be announced.
