Patricia "Patsy"
Ann Farine
Jan 17, 1932 — Sep 12, 2023
Galveston
Patricia "Patsy" Ann Farine passed away from this life on Tuesday September 12, 2023.
Patsy was born January 17, 1932, in Galveston Texas. She graduated from the all-girls Catholic School, Ursuline Academy. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Ormond G. Farine Jr. who attended the all-boys Catholic School, Kirwin Catholic High School. They were married on April 15, 1950, at St. Patrick's Church in Galveston, and remained married for 70 years. They had five children together.
While raising her children, Patsy also worked at and supported various family businesses throughout the years. Prior to the invention of disposable diapers, she and Ormond started one of the last pickup and delivery services for soiled baby diapers called "Dainty Dity Diaper Service"- a business she managed herself. This marked the beginning of Queen Cleaners, which later became Pilgrim Cleaners with numerous locations throughout Galveston County. Several other family businesses followed over the years. As the kids grew up and moved away, she was later a big part of Posh Interiors, helping her friend, Gerry Bennett, design numerous home interiors throughout the years.
Patsy spent decades attending her children's various sports and other events, always the loudest fan in the stands. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very much and they absolutely adored their "Mimi". A devoted Catholic, she was the kindest and most compassionate human that anyone could ever meet. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Melania "Minnie" Humenchuk Pucar; daughter Cynthia Ann Farine; husband Ormond "OG" Farine Jr.; sisters Mary Pucar Anonsen and Catherine Pucar Ducoff; brothers Frank Pucar and August "Sonny" Pucar.
