GALVESTON Rafael Mauricio Suazo age 61 of Galveston passed away Sunday May 17, 2020 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster. Funeral services are 9:30am Saturday May 23, 2020 at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 I-45 N in Texas City. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home beginning at 8:00am on Saturday.

Rafael was born June 24, 1958 in San Miguel, El Salvador to Rafael Antonio Suazo and Angela Reyes Suazo. He was an Auto mechanic by trade at Meyerland Shell in Houston. He enjoyed spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching western movies , he loved John Wayne and collecting western hats and belts. If anyone needed help with their car he was always willing to help fix it for them. His family was the most important thing in his life. He will be missed and forever loved.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Ligia Sanchez Suazo; step mother who helped raise him Amalia Chavez Suazo; daughter Angela Suaza Lara and husband Jaime; sons Ennio Suazo and wife Celeste and Ricardo Suazo; grandchildren, Angel Lara, Ethan Lara, Nathan Lara, Emily Lara, Ayden Suazo, Ayce Suazo, Ayva Suazo and Ayrial Suazo all of Galveston. Brothers Eddy Suazo of Los Angeles, CA and Juan Carlos Suazo of Kileen, TX; numerous other relatives and friends.
