Obituary

Officer Ramiro Max Vasquez Jr. 29, of the Galveston Police Department, passed away on September 6th, 2025. Max was born on May 10th,1996 in Mesa, Arizona. He was known for his genuine smile, humor and love for his community.

Max was proud to serve and protect his community through his work with the Galveston Police Department. His dedication, integrity and commitment to helping others will be remembered by his colleagues and all who knew him.

His hobbies include fishing, video games, and riding his motorcycle. In addition to serving the Galveston Island, he was also a member of Galveston Municipal Police Association (GMPA), and Special Response Group (SRG).

He is survived by his two cats, Frederick and Toby; his parents, Ramiro and Debra Vasquez; his twin sister, Jacquelyn Vasquez; and his eldest sister, Kai Vasquez. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Elijah; and his nieces, Emilia, and Sophia.

The Vasquez family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Galveston community, his friends, and law enforcement colleagues for their support during this difficult time.

Funeral services are 12:00 noon Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Moody Methodist Church in Galveston with visitation beginning at 10:00am.

Pallbearers are Marcus Rodriquez, Ryan Vasquez, Paige Jimenez, Kyle Post, Justin Gibbs, Paul Zepeda, Brian Pham and Benjamin Cohan. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Rodriquez, Elijah Bright and Julio Carcamo.
