Ray Molina, affectionately known as "Cocktail Ray," passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in a private elderly care assisted living home in Galveston on November 17, 2025. Born in Mercedes, Texas, Ray became a proud Galvestonian at an early age, embracing the vibrant spirit of the community he would come to love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sarah McVey Molina; father, Espirio Molina; and siblings, Oscar Molina, Janie Molina Flores, Rachel Molina Clark, and Sarah Molina Hart. Ray's legacy continues through his loving partner, Nadia Linic, stepdaughter Gaby Blalock and her son Peyton, stepson Tapy Canak (Heather), and their son, Giovanni. He is also survived by his brother, ED Molina (June), and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Ray's journey began with a proud graduation from Ball High School in 1950, where he was celebrated as both the most handsome and most athletic student. A talented athlete, he excelled in football and baseball, leaving an indelible mark on his school and community.

Following his high school years, Ray served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, he pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from North Texas State College in Denton, Texas, in 1961. His professional career began as the office financial manager for the Galveston Falstaff Brewery, followed by a successful stint as a financial adviser at Moody National Insurance. Ray eventually moved to Las Vegas, where he concluded his career as the Gaming Operations Manager of The Station Casinos, making lasting connections along the way.

In retirement, Ray found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending sunny days on the golf course and evenings soaking in the melodies at the San Luis Piano Bar. His passion for life and his ability to connect with others made him a beloved figure, cherished by friends and family alike.

Ray Molina's vibrant spirit, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and joyous memories that will continue to inspire those he touched.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont Galveston, Texas 77550 from 5:00PM-6:00PM, Military honors will be presented at 5:00 PM with a memorial to be held at 6:00PM with Pastor Melvin Bouldin officiating.

God saw him getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me."
