REX JOY NATIVIDAD, born November 15, 1966 died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 21, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.
Rex was born in Iloilo, Philippines. He is the third child of Hospicio and Pacita Natividad.
Rex graduated from Francisco School, Quezon City, Philippines. In 1985, he immigrated to the United States and joined the family in Galveston. He enrolled in Galveston College and worked many years in the Department of Transportation at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Rex also worked in many places, most recently with the Texas Department of Transportation.
Rex loved fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. Food is another thing he enjoyed with family and friends.
Rex was baptized into the Catholic faith at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Church in Quezon City, Philippines. In his teens, he attended mass and services at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church in Novaliches. There he served in the Youth Ministry. In Galveston, Rex attended mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Hospicio and Pacita Natividad. He is survived by his sisters, Purita (Carlos) Macazo, and Luz (Mendel) Cheng; brother, Leo (Ann) Natividad, numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and many loving relatives.
Rex's cremated remains will be interred at the Columbarium of the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church in Novaliches, Philippines.
