Reynaldo "Rey" Barrientes, age 57 of Galveston, Texas passed from this  life Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Rey was born on September 13, 1965, in Galveston, Texas to Reynaldo Barrientes Sr. and Josephine Barrientes. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his friends enjoying his day on the seawall whether it maybe 35th or 37th streets. Always talking and smiling. Rey was a very humble
man, loved and liked by everyone. His love for the beach was passionate to him. Whether a sunny or cloudy day it did not matter. The beach water could be blue, green or murky brown, but the sound of the ocean was like music to him, in a sense magical.

Often he would share his experience of witnessing spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Rey was a beach Icon, a true BOI (born on island). Daily he would patronize the Citgo on 35th and Seawall Blvd. Eventually becoming great friends with the owners, Joe and Sam and many of the frequent customers. Rey was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Astros. Always looking forward to watching games with his Tio Pete and cousin Frank and sometimes friends.

Rey is preceded in death by his beloved Mother and father, daughter Shanna Marie Perez, grandparents Pedro Barrientes Sr., Dolores Treviño
Barrientes (Brownsville, Tx.) Eugene Castro and Maria Villareal Castro (Houston, Tx.). His beloved uncles Pete and Petra Barrientes. He is
survived by his sons Elliot Antonio Barrientes (Poplar Bluff, Missouri) and Antonio Rey Barrientes(Galveston, Tx). Brother John Christopher
Barrientes (Rita) Cypress, Tx, sister's Jaynie Barrientes Peña, Manvel, Tx and Yvette Marie Parker (Barris) Galveston, Tx; Nephews and Niece :
John C. Barrientes, Christian Peña, Cayla Peña, Zachary Hardeman, Kendolyn Parker and many relatives and friends.
Rey will be greatly missed by his sister Yvette, cousins Alex Esparza and Frank Barrientes, his Tia Lola Esparza as well as other family members
and host of loving friends. He will forever live in our hearts, always remembering his smile and his favorite saying "That's what I'm talking
about!". The family would like to thank everyone who reached out with their condolences and prayers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday September 1, 2023, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas. The family will have a
private viewing from 5:00pm - 6:00pm, A devotional will be held at 6:00pm with visitation following.
