GALVESTON: Ricardo "Chiquis" Castillo 52 passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born April 19, 1970, in Mexico, to Matias and Maria de Jesus Hernandez Castillo. Ricardo settled in Galveston where he and his wife raised their family.

Ricardo was a very loving family man always a hard worker to see that his family was provided for. He was employed by T & T Marine Salvage, Inc. and in his spare time he loved fishing and hunting.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his father, Matias Castillo. Survivors include his wife, Candelaria Mares Martinez, children, Pamela Castillo, Ricardo Castillo, Jr. and Kayla Castillo. Grandchildren, Leilani Castillo and Elian DeLeon Castillo; mother, Maria de Jesus Hernandez Castillo; brothers, Mauricio Castillo and Marco Castillo; sisters, Marcela Castillo, Ana Belia Mares, Laura Pena and Maria Ugenia Castillo.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Jose Alonso officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM and a Rosary will be recited at 6 PM led by Deacon John Castillo.
