Richard Santos age 65 of Galveston died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral services are 10:00am Wednesday August 25, 2021 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm .
Born October 19, 1955 in Galveston, Texas to Joe Santos and Mary Ochoa Santos, Richard was the owner of Ricky Joe's Auto in Galveston. Richard was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching his crime shows and movies with his granddaughter Liah, with whom he shared a special bond. Richard mostly enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. Richard was always willing to help a stranger and had the biggest heart. He was so loved in the community and will be truly missed by all.
Mr. Santos was preceded in death by his parents, son Ricky Joe Santos and brothers Lupe Mata, Pedro Mata, Freddie Mata and Cornell Santos. Survivors include his loving wife and best friend Dina Santos of Galveston; daughters Tionne Santos and Emily Arreazola and husband Gilbert of League City, Heather Sheridan and husband David Loubet of Galveston; sons Michael Sheridan, Jr. and Sabrina Ester and Jonathan Sheridan and wife Windy all of Galveston; sister Sylvia Williams and husband Gary Gray of Galveston; brothers Julian Mata and wife Magdalena of LaMarque, Robert Mata and wife Josie of California, and Joey Santos and wife Francine of Humble, TX; grandchildren Zoe Bustamante, Caty Buhmann, Liah Sheridan, Savannah Sheridan, Aiden Arreazola, Kamila Loubet, Michael Sheridan, III., Jonathan Sheridan, Jr, Nevaeh Sheridan; great grandchildren Xannon Randle and Maci Buhmann; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Sheridan, Thomas Gray, Matthew Williams, Cheyenne Mata, Justin Mata and Rene Alegria. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Sheridan, III, Gilbert Arreazola, Aiden Arreazola, Gary Gray, and Houston Vaughn.
