Robert Carl Schulz, Sr., 77, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at UTMB Galveston.  Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors starting at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, in Hitchcock, Texas.

Bob was born on Galveston Island at St. Mary's on June 6, 1947. He graduated from Kirwin High School in 1965 where he excelled in tennis.  He then went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a business degree. He was employed with the Port of Galveston for many years.   Bob loved golf, tennis and bowling.  He bowled for over 30 years on the same team with longtime friends Albert Choate and Charlie Martorell.   Bob was actively involved with the Propeller Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents Constance and Hubert Schulz, sister Gail Anne Schulz Hester.  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patsy; son Rob Schulz and wife Yvette, loving grandchildren Bobby and Reagan, daughter Stacy Kaiser and family, sons Kevin, Craig and
Gregory Newkirk and families, brothers H.C. (Cindy), Stephen (Gretchen), and Mark. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Schulz, Mark Schulz, Bobby Schulz, Dustin Hester, Kenneth Maser and Albert Choate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Propeller Club of Galveston.
