Obituary

Romanda Yvonne Jacob, affectionately known as "Mandy," was surrounded by family, when she was called home by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born on August 9, 1973, in Galveston, Texas. She was the only child born to Gail Polite and Raymond Robertson.

Romanda was united in marriage to Carl Jacob Sr. on November 19, 1994. To this union two children were born, Taylor Jacob and Carl Jacob Jr (Scooter).

Mandy attended Holy Rosary Catholic school in Galveston, Texas and Trinity Catholic School in St. Martinville. She also attended St. Martinville Sr. High and graduated from Galveston Ball High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Norte Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville. Her faith with Christ grew very strong and was a testament for years to come. Mandy was also a faithful and active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the CBS Christmas Savings Club.

Mandy was the definition of our family's Superwoman. With every fiber of her being she fought a great fight and she never lost faith through all of her battles. She exuded unshakable, unmovable faith until the very end, LITERALY! She was the Epitome of Strength! She would often remind us, "God Got This!" Her smile NEVER faded in the midst of all the pain she endured. She had this remarkable, unbelievable ability to still laugh and boss us around.  We could never understand this being that she was the smallest of the crew.

To know her is to love her! Mandy enjoyed her family dearly but most of all traveling to St. Martinville to spend quality time with family was her favorite thing to do. Her challenges nor obstacles hindered her desire to laugh out loud and cut up in "The Ville." She loved having good ole' fashion fun! Mandy had such a genuine heart towards all who came across her path. She will be remembered as the one who brightened everyone's day and was pure love in motion.

Mandy was preceded in death by her father figure Michael Murphy. Grandparents Roy and Mary Polite, Clarence and Hilda Robertson and Mary Simpson and God Mother Merlin Fontenette. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, the love of her life of 27 years Carl Jacob Sr. (Pep), her pride and joys, daughter Taylor Jacob and son Carl Jacob Jr. (Scooter), her "sunshine" grandson Tayton. Mandy is survived by her loving and most supportive mother Gail Polite, her Father Raymond Robinson, her mother-n-law Hilda Batiste; her 4 step-children whom she also loved; her godfather Fred Dauphine; Siblings: Erica Hayes, Oneal Robertson, Adrian Robertson, Tangy Davis Robertson, Didier (DClay) Landry, Kendall Landry, Jalisa Batiste, Raymond C. Robertson Jr.; In-Laws: Raney (Pricilla) Jacob, Jarvis (Mary) Batiste, Sharelle Roberts, Rachel (Patrick) Leon Corey Jacob; Per Mandy: Devoted cousins Jonas Fontenette, LaMonica Filer, Denise Filer, Dimitricia Dauphine-Batiste, Kyla Daulphine & Bridgette (Ross) Farris. Matriachs of the Family: her Aunt Belva Anthony, Uncle Martin (Joyce Filer), Aunt Sr. Innocente Wiltz, Sister of the Holy Family in New Orleans, La.; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and a multitude of friends.
