Ronald Leon Milton, Sr. age 62 of Houston passed away Thursday June 27, 2019 in Houston. Home Going Celebration services will be held 11:00am Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2019. An additional Memorial will be held in Denver, Colorado on August 8, 2019.

Ronald Leon Milton, a native of Galveston, Texas; BOI (Born on the Island) has called Houston, TX. his home for the past 35 years. Ronnie was a Husband, Father, Brother, "Papa" (his most beloved title), Uncle, Cousin and Friend. He was born April 21, 1957 to loving parents Joseph Milton, Jr. and Doris Jean Ruben-Crawford. Ronnie attended public school in Galveston. He moved to Denver, Co. in 1967 where he attended public school and graduated from Manual High School in 1975, where he met the love of his life, Joni Packer.

On June 12, 1976, Ronnie married his High School Sweetheart, Joni and to this union of 43 years was born a son, their pride and joy, Ronald Leon Milton, Jr. Ronnie attended St. John's United Methodist Church where he was a member of the men's choir. Ronnie was employed by the Airline Industry while residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 4 years. In 1981, they moved to Houston where he continued with the airlines for 4 more years. Soon after, he started his career at NASA where he worked for Jacobs Engineering, retiring after 24 years. During this time, he received numerous awards and accolades for his dedicated years of employment.

Ronnie was a jazz enthusiast, a music buff with an extensive catalog of music. He loved History, Basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. He was so attentive to his grandchildren and was always found teaching them life lessons. To them, "Papa" was like none other. He enjoyed working out daily at 24 Hour Fitness. He played basketball and mentored the young men who attended the gym. Ronnie was a very compassionate person, who loved life and people. He was extremely respectful to the elderly and loved helping and being available to them. Ronnie was extremely funny and his humor was a delight to his family and many friends. Upon retirement, Ronnie's most treasured job was being a Papa to his precious grandchildren, Jaden Leo (9 years) and Juliana Layne (7 years). Ronnie was an organ donor and even in death, he continues to bless others.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Milton, Jr. and Doris Ruben-Crawford and his grandparents, Eugene and Adell Ruben and Joseph and Bernice Milton.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife of 43 years; Joni Milton, his only child Ronnie Jr. his cherished and devoted daughter-in-law Melissa, his adored grandchildren, Jaden and Juliana and his beloved fur babies Benson and Swirl. Godchildren; Danette and Destini Packer; His sisters; Rhonda Harris (Charles), Rosalyn Ritman (Kelvin) and Stacey Smith (Herbert), brother; Roland, brothers-in-Iaw Butch and Dino Packer, sisters-in-law; Lori Marshbank and Maudette Packer; a Special Uncle; Muhammad Shakoor; significant Aunts; Dianne Ruben-Hutton, Beverly Ruben-Allen and Lou Atencio. Uncle; Albert Charles Ruben; his play mother; Linda Patton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
