Obituary

Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Herrin, Sr. age 69 of Galveston died Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral services are 10:00am Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where an Elk's Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm.

Ronnie was born November 3, 1956 in Galveston, Texas to Louis Clarence Herrin, Jr. and Norma Jean Musick Herrin. He was a graduate of Ball High School and a lifetime BOI. He was a lifetime member of the catholic faith and a member of the B.P.O. E. Galveston Lodge # 126. Ronnie's favorite thing to do in his life was to coach Little League Baseball for 30 plus years with Central Little League. He always remembered the great times and great children he was able to have an impact on and always cherished what he was able to contribute to the youth of Galveston.

Ronnie was a consummate carpenter. During his career he built homes as the co-owner of H & H Builders here in Galveston and provided many homeowners with his excellent remodeling knowledge and skills that were second to none. During his younger years he was a very industrious person, never staying still. He worked at the Grain Elevator and Todds Shipyard for a number of years. His final choice of work from which he ended with retirement was driving the shuttle with Falstaff Cruise Line Shuttle until his health failed him.

Preceded in death by his parents Louis "Tootsie" and Norm Herrin; survivors include his wife Linda Sachtleben of Galveston; sons Ronald Wayne Herrin, Jr. of Bedias, Texas and Jeffrey Alan Herrin of Anderson, Texas; sister Susan Kelley of Galveston; brothers Louis Clarence Herrin, III of Austin, Texas, John Edward Herrin, Sr. of Deer Park and David Michael Herrin of Galveston; grandchildren Robert Anthony Herrin, Shon David Herrin, Isabel Marie Herrin, Ricardo Ruiz, Jeffrey Alan Herrin, Jr., Ava Joan Herrin and Emma Faith Herrin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers are Ronald Wayne Herrin, Jr., Jeffrey Alan Herrin, Ricardo Ruiz, John Herrin, Jr., Shon Herrin.
