Obituary

Ronny Mejicanos age 60 of Galveston died Sunday January 3, 2021 at Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral services are 11:30am Friday, January 8, 2021 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, Reverend David Gomez officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm where a prayer service will be held at 6:30pm.

Ronny was born April 14, 1960 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Antonio Sicaja and Narcisa Mejicanos. He was employed at the City of Galveston Public Works Department. Ronny immigrated to the US in the 1990's. He was a man of love, a man of success who loved and laughed much. He didn't just tell you how to live, he lived and let others watch him do it. He was a hardworking man who loved his job and loved to work. He was a wonderful and supportive right hand man to his boss as this was his nature. His spirit would light up any room and people trusted his wisdom. He was a Christian family man and member of New Life Church in Galveston. We will always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace. You always gave us yourself by being there for mom and us through good and bad times. No matter what may come, we'll always remember you Dad because there will never be one who could replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you. Te Extranaremos pollo!

Preceded in death by his parents, a son Oswaldo Sicaja and his sister Feliciana Mejicanos; survivors include his wife Edna America Aceituno; daughter Edna Mejicanos ,Claudia Sicaja, Kendy Aceituno and Julmi Gonzalez all of Galveston; sons Edgar Antonio Sicaja of Guatemala, Mauricio Gonzalez and Marlon Gonzalez all of Galveston; brother Rigoberto Mejicanos of Guatemala; grandchildren Elisa Perez, Johanna Sicaja, Ariav Sicaja, Hadasa Sicaja, Brandon Gonzalez, Sebastian Gonzalez, Ashley Arieta, Nathan Gonzalez, Anthony Fuentes, Ariana Fuentes, Alexa Fuentes, Evelyn Gonzalez and Emely Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
