Rosita Elizabeth Johnson age 80 of Port Bolivar died Sunday January 31, 2021 at her residence in Port Bolivar. Graveside services are 10:00am Friday February 5, 2021 at Port Bolivar Cemetery.
Rosita was born April 15, 1940 in Galveston to Jesse Roddy Silva and Eudocia Garcia Silva. She was a lifelong Roman Catholic. Rosita was "grandmother" to all, her own grand and great grandchildren as well as all of their many friends and family. She loved her family deeply. We will miss her morning and evening check in calls that you could count on everyday. She enjoyed riding in the car and seeing all of her friends and the community that she loved. She was a consummate crab picker. Throughout her life she was continuously involved in the fishing industry, working with fresh fish, crabs, oysters and shrimp. She enjoyed her morning coffee club at her home with all the friends and family that would stop by to say hello and talk about the good old times. She was a great domino and card player and truly enjoyed time with her family. Rest with the angels until we see you again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin Duff Johnson in 1994, her sisters Mary Dafonte, Catherine Laverne, Juanita Quebedeaux and Josephine Guidroz; brothers Joseph Silva, Ernest Silva, Dario Silva and Rudolph Silva. Survivors include her daughter Becky Johnson of Port Bolivar; sons Johnny Johnson and wife Diane of Fannett, TX and Dennis Forward of Port Bolivar; grandchildren Lucas Bouse and wife Kahla, Roy Bouse and fiancé Ashley Adaway, Lindsay Johnson and Jennifer Ortego; great grandchildren Cami Johnson, Carson Rogers, Makenzie Rogers, Carter Rogers, Bowdie Ortego, Harper Martin, Wyatt Rowden, Audrey Rowden and Zadox Rowden; lifelong best friend Ruby Burch; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Roy Bouse, Sr., Roy Bouse, Jr., Lucas Bouse, Lee Carrington, Luke Rosenboom, William Maxey, Bobby Deem and Richard Riley.
The family would like to thank Tammy Dafonte, Tracy Allred, Texas Home Health, Davita Dialysis and her many caregivers who provided such wonderful care of our mother.
There will be a gathering following the graveside at grandma's house 1403 Madison. Please deliver food to her house. BYOB.
