Samuel Willis Stephens, 62 born to Samuel & Shirley Stephens on November 12th,1960 in Galveston, Texas and was called home Easter Sunday April 9th,2023 at UTMB Victory Lakes. Memorial services are 11:00am Thursday April 13,2023, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas.

Samuel also known as "Pookie" to family and friends spent his childhood in Galveston Texas before moving to Dallas Texas. He enjoyed fishing and installing carpet. He was a self-employed carpenter by trade and considered it his beloved career. His love for dogs could be seen from a mile away. One thing about Pooki, he was going to fish and bring his dogs everywhere he went. Pookie was a simple person. Laid back and relaxed is what you might call it.

Samuel "Pookie" is preceded in death by his grandparents: Samuel and Eliza Stephens, Russell and Cora Bordelon. Survivors Include Parents: Samuel W. Stephens Jr and Shirley A. Stephens; Children: Samantha, Harrah, and Samuel IV Stephens; Siblings: Mark A. Stephens, Cynthia A. Jones (Richard Jones), Cheryl A. Stephens, Darrell E. Stephens; Nephews and Niece: Justin A. Stephens, Mark A. Stephens, Cherise M. Stephens, and Richard Jones III
