Sandra Darden McCorpen was born on April 16, 1952, in Galveston, Texas and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 6, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Nathaniel and Rosa Lee Darden, who preceded her in death, along with her grandparents Rosa Bell and Ezel Mapps, sister Linda Darden, great-granddaughter Dallas Ademola, niece Ardelia Darden, nephews Robert Baugh IV and Eddie Darden.

Sandra grew up in Galveston and graduated from Ball High School in 1970. She pursued higher education and earned a degree in accounting, a testament to her dedication and determination.

Sandra also proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army.

Sandra found immense joy in the company of her family and friends. A devoted mother and grandmother, she treasured the moments spent with her loved ones. Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her only child, Felicia McCorpen; grandchildren Derisha Ademola, Michael McCorpen, Eddie Walker, and Markes Byrd; sisters Patricia Brown and Janice Darden; nieces Viola Hart and Tess Tobin, and a devoted cousin Debra Martin; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward her memory.

Sandra's life was one of love, service, and dedication to those she held dear. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
