Serena was born Nov 13,1951 in Galveston, TX where she lived most of her life. She married Francisco Sifuentes Sr. in 1971. They had two children, Francisco Jr, and Regina. Her children and, later, grandchildren were her entire life. She made it known to them every day.

Serena had an enormous heart of gold. She continously gave everything she possibly could to others, even if it meant she kept nothing for herself. Her home was notorious for being the place for comfort and good meals. She provided for every person who walked through her door as if they were her own family. She became "mom" to many friends of her children because of her loving and kind acceptance of everyone. She will be sadly missed and mourned by many.

Serena was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Ovalle and Celia Diaz. She is survived by her former husband and life-long friend, Francisco Sifuentes Sr; her loving children, Francisco Sifuentes Jr and wife, Candice, and Regina Sifuentes Bishop and husband, Joey; step-children Jason Sifuentes, and Jennifer Garza and husband, Jesse; her beautiful grandchildren, Maya, Josie, Sofia, Draigo, and Leo; her siblings Sheila, David, Al, Jesse, Michael, Dwayne, and Alexis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 4:00pm. The family will receive visitors beginning at 3:00pm.
