Obituary

On July 6,2024, our beloved Teresa  Tamayo departed from this world to be with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, love, and compassion that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Teresa was born on December 18,1960 in Pomona, California. Teresa was raised in Louisville, KY and Henryville, IN. Teresa grew up as a girl on the farm with a profound sense of empathy and a deep love for others and all living things. Teresa left when she was 19 in search of opportunity and adventure. She made her way to Texas where she eventually settled in Galveston.

Teresa was a devoted mother with her greatest  joy being the love for her daughter, and grandchildren. As well as the countless number of children from over the years that she adopted in her heart. As a mother, Teresa was a pillar of strength and wisdom. She instilled in her children the values of faith, integrity, and perseverance. Her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where her family found solace and support through life's joys and challenges.

She became a pillar in the community, known by many. She worked at many local establishments during her time here. Where she made lifelong friends and family. Her longest run being at Marios on 61st where everyone became an extension of her family. Watching families grow over the years brought her so much joy. She had multiple talents and though she was a server most her of years, she was also an artist. She loved  making homemade costumes, creating  jewelry and paintings and  cooking for all that she loved.

Her life was a testament to her love for others and her deep Christian faith, which guided her every action and decision. She exemplified kindness and selflessness, always putting others before herself. Her nurturing spirit was felt not only by her immediate family but by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

Teresa is survived by, mother and father Linda and Doug Reams daughter Tiffany Tamayo, Son in law Henry Rodriguez Jr.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Henry Rodriguez III, Ava Rodriguez, Gianna, Rodriguez, and Kylie Rodriguez, whom she adored and cherished dearly and had a remarkable bond. As well as many nieces nephews and others adopted in her heart. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts and in the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.

Her passing is mourned by all who knew her, but we take solace in knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father. May we honor her memory by continuing to live out the values she held dear and by spreading the love and compassion that defined her life.

A celebration of Teresa life will be held at Carnes Bro's Funeral home on July 18,2024 at 7 p.m. viewing starts 5 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery on July 19, 2024 at 11:30 AM
