Valentin Trinidad Torres, 75, of Galveston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00 PM that evening at the funeral home.

Valentin was a retired security guard for the U.S. Treasury in Austin, Texas. He was of the Catholic faith and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed watching movies. Known for his positivity and sense of humor, he brought laughter and joy to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Torres; his parents, Trinidad and Lydia Torres; and his great granddaughter, June Lyn LaGrone. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Lyn Smith and husband Lee, and Jennifer Peralez and husband Frank; his son, Mark Anthony Torres; five grandchildren, Chelsea Nicole LaGrone, Emily LeAnn Smith, Hayley Patricia Smith, Jasmine Desiree Peralez, and Dominic Lincoln Peralez; two great-grandchildren, Justin Lee LaGrone Jr. and Jayce Lee LaGrone; two sisters, Mary Molina and Virginia Torres; and one brother, Manuel Torres.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at UTMB Hospital Radiology and Oncology, Dr. Samuel Mathis, and Dr. George Carayannopoulos for their compassionate care during Valentin's illness.
