GALVESTON Valerie Lynn Franklin age 57 of Galveston passed away Friday July 19, 2019 at her residence in Galveston. Funeral services are 1:00pm Saturday August 3, 2019 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, Reverend Jessie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Valerie was born April 20, 1962 in Galveston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother Bertha Dean Franklin; father Ozell Smith; grandmother Lola Franklin; sister Angelon Epps and son Lucien Franklin.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sons: Dale Franklin and Jeremy Franklin;  daughter: Sherida Franklin (Melvin Dennis); granddaughters: Corriell Bell and Malaysia Dennis; nephew: Ahmad Epps (Precious); nieces: Tekeema Oliver (Tobias) and Jasmine Epps; brother: Dale Franklin (Myrna); sister: Carol Jean Burns; aunts: Ernestine Shakoor and Maggie Franklin; devoted friend: Denise Johnson ; devoted friend and caretaker: Sharon Wells; her beloved niece: Briara Smith; a hosts of other nephews, nieces, cousins, and beloved family.
