Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Willie Mae Thomas who left us on December 28, 2024 at the age of 69.

Willie Mae was born June 24, 1955 in Galveston, Texas to Richard Thomas and Stella James. She grew up in Galveston and was a faithful Christian lady.

Willie Mae was the embodiment of love, warmth, and kindness. A fun-loving spirit, she always encouraged living life to the fullest and having fun even if it meant breaking a few rules along the way. She welcomed everyone with open arms and opened up her home and heart to       anyone she met. It was a safe haven for all, and no one ever left her house without feeling cared for (fed) and appreciated.

She was a pillar of strength for her family. You could talk to her about anything and she made it all better. She was everyone's Willie Mae and had more than enough love to go around.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Stella Thomas; brothers Richard Thomas, Leonard Thomas and Henry Thomas. She leaves behind a daughter  her friend Emily Wiltz of Galveston, brothers Charles Thomas and wife Brenda of La Marque and Johnny Thomas and Juanita of Galveston; a granddaughter Nyjayla; numerous nieces and nephews.

While she may no longer be with us, she has poured into us so much love and joy that we will carry with us forever. Her legacy of nurturing, pure love will live on through many generations to come.

A memorial service to Celebrate her life will be held 1:00pm Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston.
